Who is best spinner Murali or Shane warn?

In my opinion Shane warn much better bowler then the Murali, because 1) he bowl leg spin as we know bowling leg spin very difficult the the Offspin
2) His record alwys consistene whethever he played at home or Away, does not relie on the pitch.
3) His bowling action very clear unlike Murali who throw the ball means illegal action.

Are you agree with me or not? please answer in detail if possible.

Chosen Answer:

I think Shane hold upper hand because he doesn’t allow any body to comment on his bowling action whereas in case of Murli question are raised quiet regularly. Due to him ICC make 15 degree rule to bend the arm at the point of delivery.

It done to fix Murali in the scheme of legal bowling no doubt about his ability but he created controversy

  1. Short answer: Warne is better

    Longer answer:
    1) Murali did change off-spin bowling just like Warne changed leg-spin. Off-spinners never turned the ball so much, we never heard of an off-spinner’s wrong’un (doosra) and he turned the ball with his wrist rather than his fingers. But Warne introduced the flipper, he dismantled the notion that an attacking leggie would be hit for a boundary every over, and he inspired a whole generation of leg-spinners. So it’s even there.
    2) Very true. Warne could be just as dangerous on a pitch with no turn. Murali is more consistent now but for the first half of his career he only took wickets on dustbowls. Plus Warne had McGrath, McDermott, Gillespie etc to take wickets off his stats, Murali has only had Vaas. Murali has bowled more overs too.
    3) The ICC basically changed the rules to fit Murali in because he’s good for the game (which he is, I’ll admit). Nonetheless, he has had to deal with throwing accusations since he started and they haven’t thrown him out of the game yet. They’re not going to now, at this stage of his career, so I think we should just accept that because let’s face it – nobody else in the world can throw it that well anyway. (I’ve tried, it’s not easy!)

  2. MURALITHARAN IS THE BEST SPINNER EVER!!!!!

    if u want reasons,

    1. he has most wickets in least no. of matches. shane warne gets to play at least 5 test matches per yr. but murali doesnt.

    2. he didn’t get caught for any drug scandals but shane warne did.

PS: murali’s action is cleared by the ICC each and every time a “looser official” requests to do so.

  3. Murali is still playing, Shane no.
what is the use of talking about a player who has quit ,and compare him with a current player.
don’t get angry, my opinion is that ,your question is not perfect timed.

  4. Murali is the best ! I do like Shane warn but cannot compare with Murali. He has gone through most of the difficulties than Shane.

    1) Murali can deliver a much variety, than Shane warn, Even leg spin,
    2) Murali’s records are much better comparatively & he can spin the cricket ball even on glass.
    3) Aussies new that Murali is going to be a big treat to world cricket & they tried every possible ways o knock him down. But ICC & the rest of the cricketing fans has not rulled him for any illegal action. His arms a abnorbaly not 100% strait like others. He has gone trough variours tests & have found to prove that he is not trowing the ball.

He is a gifted magician for world cricket. I wish him all the very best in breaking the records.

  5. THE GREATEST OFFIE TO WALK ON THIS PLANET IS MURALI AND THE GREATEST LEGGIE TO WALK ON THIS PLANET IS WARNE…..

First of all mate u cant say its hard to bowl off spin o leg spin. if one gets accustomed to a style that style is easy for him.

in the 90s offys only had the off break they had a idea of top the spin but noody didnt bowld it that much. But for leg spiners they had lot of variation other than the flipper. True that Shane Warne introduced it, then again we can say Murali introduced the Doosra.

Murali In early parts of his carrer and still he has to do the bulk of the bowlin. He had so much pressure i mean until recently he had only support from vass. On the other had Shane Warne had pressure because he was surronded wit quality bowlers. from a 10 2 15 overs he has to deliver. On the other had, Murali, Everytime he comes out for a match he nearly bowls half of the overs.

Warne is quite the playboy while murali didnt have any such incidents except for the throwin case which is now been cleared 3 times.

what i think is u can not grade 2 spinners of different styles and say one is better. Thta Y I place the 2 on the same line.

  6. Well,I tottaly agree with you.Murali,WE all know is a world class spinner but unlike Warne he has not been able to help his team in crunch situations. The no. of weapons Warne had got under his belt were really appreciatabale .He could throw
6 differen balls in an over and his valour combined with his chutzpah realld did make a difference for Australia.

  7. MURALI………………..but how u sayrali’s action is illegal………………………..if someone telling u ….ur walking style is wrong & illegal………..what can u to say ??????

  8. I will vote for Shane warn,as Murli`s action was suspected and the bend in the arm helps him to do the trick.I am not an expert and these are my personal views. Will not be out of place to say that “I also know that the experts of the game say Murli is a great player”.
