What is the best piece of exercise equipment to buy for someone like me who hates to exercise and is lazy!!!!?

I know I need to work out, middle age spread is creeping in, I like to walk, so no need for a treadmill, I have a bike to no stationary bike, but what about a “spinner”, what is that? I need to lose that spare tire? And I know I need to learn portion control…..thanks!

Chosen Answer:

Don’t waste your money on exercise equipment. Walking is good. Challenge yourself by varying your pace (alternate quick and normal speeds), walking further, varying your route to take in hills (both up and down work muscles). You can do a similar thing with your bike – don’t forget a helmet.
Reduce portion sizes by using smaller plates and bowls. Eat whilst sitting at the table with others. It’s bad manners to eat whilst you’re talking – so talk to them a lot and you’ll have less time for eating!

  1. You admit you’re lazy…save your money.
This isn’t to put you down.
Have you ever noticed the number of pieces of work-out equipment sitting on the side of the road on garbage day??
    MOST people don’t use them.
You say you like to walk – that’s great exercise.
    Good luck.

  2. Ab rollers are sooo fantastic and they support your neck and back so it doesn’t even feel like it’s an effort but trust me it really does work…

  3. A Pilates ball. I hate exercise too, but doing crunches on this ball is “ab”solutely fabulous. It feels sooooooo good!!! Then after you get into that for a while you can get a video and start to incorporate other exercises with it. I know alot of people who do Pilates for rehabilitation purposes (bad backs) they swear by it.

  4. Sorry, don’t know what a spinner is. Lazy work out? Do you live near where they have a swimming pool like the Y or a hotel? That’s good exercise without working up a sweat! It’s not just portion control, but the right foods too, like fruits, veg. , fish, and things broiled not fried.

  5. they have invented tv games you play by doing the real actions, ie playing tennis, all you need is an electronic racket an a good tv, you will be sweaty without realising it. dats if its your hobby!
