Hi
I am going to play my first indoor cricket game tomorrow and really want to win
What are some tips for indoor cricket that’s different to outdoor cricket?
I can bowl any type. What style is best? Spinner or Fast?
With fast bowling, they might get a better chance to hit a 4 but with slow bowling, they have to create their own pace….
What do you think?
And also when you bat, how should you try to score runs? Go for singles or smash 4/6′s? You and your partner only bat for 4 overs anyway….
Also should I pitch the ball up in chance of yorking batsmen or should i bounce it short in hope of a catch?
So Liam by your advice, I’ll ball good to short length and bat using a straight drive for 4′s. Slogs are a stupid way to get boundaries when you can just simply do a frontfoot or backfoot drive.

I reckon you should encourage the batsmen to run, better chance of runouts. Batting, I’d go for the slog, try and hit 4s along the ground to save you getting caught off the net.

unless you bowl great spin bowl fast, because spinners are easy to hit for six in indoor, they just come down to the pitch of the ball and hit it over your head. Well when your batting if there is a decent bowler slogging isnt a great option you will get out. Try to hit it into the side net and pick up a run because then you get a bonus run. But if you get a half volley or a shiit ball smash it for four or six. The key is to bowl shorter, because it is hard to hit a short of a length ball straight and hitting straight is the only way to get a boundary.
Edit: fours are hard to hit along the ground though because fielders are usually covering those postitions, unless you can’t bat.
ive not played or watched it.. so cant help u
With indoor the ball will bounce more and also swing more than an outdoor ball so pitch it up and keep the ball on off stump. For batting the safest way to make good runs is to hit the ball straight into the ground, angling it towards the side net you are facing.
As i said before an indoor ball bounces a lot so by doing this you make it difficult for the fieldsmen to field the ball and allow you and your batting partner to make a quick run with little chance of being run out. Hitting the ball into the side net and running a single will give a score of 2 runs per ball. So off your 4 overs it is possible to post a score of 50 plus allowing for some outs and missed balls.
Best thing to do is to turn up early and try bowling and batting a bit in the nets before the game just to get used to the difference. Good luck!
