Do you agree with the British media and a few?

of their fans?
Recently I read many pieces claiming Swan to be the best spinner in the world? Is he better than Vettori or Bhajji or Ramdev? (I am not sure whether Murali is still playing tests)

This is not something new. Before Swann, even Monty was acclaimed as the best!
Swann, no doubt is one of the best England has produced of recent times. But on quality rating he will not come anywhere near Harbhajan or Vettori.
Of course he is an intelligent learner and a decent lat order batsman.

  1. If you compare Swann’s stats with Vettori, Harbhajan and Murali, he is no where near to them.
But if you see his recent performances he is far better than them.
    And that’s the bottom line.

  2. I have followed Graeme Swann closely and i must agree that he is the best spinner in the world at the moment. Currently, he is better than Vettori and Bhajji (not sure who Ramdev is). Vettori is known for control and pace variation but doesn’t turn the ball like Swann can. Swann has good control and spins the ball a long way which makes him a deadlier proposition. Bhajji has been out of form for a while and as a result, he doesn’t turn the ball much and his line and length have been varied as well. The other thing about Swann is that he has performed superbly in all formats of the game which shows that the man is quality and will perform no matter what the circumstances are.

    Murali has retired from tests.

  3. Those stupid Englishmen with low IQ levels….they did the same thing in 2007 & boasted continuously about a guy called Monty Pasana or something & said he is as good as Murali!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

he bowled hundreds of overs when he toured SL in 2007 without getting a single wicket & I am not sure where he is now.

Since Murali retired from Tests best spinners in the world now are Raniv,Vettori & Harbajan…

But Randiv will go pass other two within next year or so…….

Swann should tour Sri Lanka or India bcz it will help him to imbibe lot of truths,,~

  5. I Have Good Respect For SWAN, I Like Him Too, BUT As You Compare
To Vettoro, Bhajji,Botha, Shakib Al Hasan & GREAT MURALI, NO Swan Can’t
Come Closer, BUT He (Swan) Good Spinner No Doubt About That.

  6. They have a free media all over the world in most countries …….. Britain journos love to put a new SPIN on things. No I do not agree that Swan is the best spinner in the world – perhaps in Britain and perhaps that is their world … a little place. As usual pretty one eyed.

  7. Well he’s nowhere near Vettori. As for Bhaji,he hasn’t been of much use lately according to what I read so I’ll reserve my judgement on that comparison. As Devi says, the British media like to put their own spin on things.
